Products and services can be defined along a continuum:
- Pure tangible good (e.g. soap, toothpaste)
- Tangible good with an accompanying service (e.g. car, computer)
- Hybrid offering (e.g. restaurant)
- Major service with accompanying minor goods and services (e.g. air travel)
- Pure service (e.g. babysitting, massage)
